Tools and materials
- Scrap Lumber – 3 pieces
- Gauzy Net Ikea Drape Panels – 1 Pair
- White Garbage Bag filled with Newspaper
- Battery Fairy Lights – 1 strand
1. Make the armature of the ghost
Find 3 pieces of scrap wood: 2 at 10 feet long and 1 at 3 feet long. Perfect for a 12-Foot Ghost!
Connect the 2 longest pieces and nail. Add the cross piece.
2. Make the head of the ghost
Fill 1 white plastic garbage bag with newspaper. Fill it up so it’s firm.
3. Make the body of the ghost
Use the bag ties to secure the bag to the “neck” of the armature.
Gauzy Net Ikea drapes (cheap, cheap, cheap – long and flowy).

(Cat Helper is Not Recommended for this DIY) 🙂
To create a flowy ghost body, thread twine through the channel of the panels – tie to make a ring.
4. Add lights
Now for the magic: add 1 set of battery fairy lights!

Drape lights over the head and allow them to dangle down to the “feet”. Secure lights to the head with clothespins.
5. Add the eyes and mouth
Drape the netting over everything, then hot glue the blackest black hollow eyes and mouth to the netting.
