Bird Aviary from what?

Highboy dresser turned Canary Aviary.
Flight and aviary cages looked like to much metal for my cottage style.
Flight and aviary cages looked like to much metal for my cottage style.
I started with this from s thrift store it was the perfect fit. I had a perfect spot with just the right size.
I tore all down except front brace and rebuilt top and back.
I made 3 doors this one for changing water and food. It's high for top access.
I made this door low to change things out on bottom.
I used a drawer for storage. I added wheels for pulling on and out. I put glass tiles in bottom for a finished look.
I added trim accents to top to blend in some color from the drawer.
Enjoyed the project?

You did a fantastic job on this! We have five Parrots at our house. My husband found me a cage someone else has made and, ironically, he is bringing it home today. I'm going to need to paint the outside of it because it's not in the best shape but this is going to be my weekend project. I hope mine ends up looking half as beautiful as yours!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Hey! We are getting ready to turn an armoire into an aviary for our parakeets and I was wondering what sort of paint and wire you used. I'm a little worried about anything toxic been in the cage since sometimes they chew. Thanks and I love your project!
I have a veneer armoire is that safe?
I want one of these so bad and have seen some nice armoires but I have no woodworking skills. Is mahogany wood safe to use if it is solid?
