Cheap Leaves Décor Hack
Realistic artificial Greenery can be so expensive. I want to show you how to make fake leaves that look high-end.
To do that, I took these plastic green cheap artificial leaves and turned them into high-end willow branches.
To start this project, I took a pair of scissors and trimmed down the leaves.
I started at the very top tip of the leaf and cut them down to make them more slender. I was just cutting off the bulk of the leaf at this point.
When I started, I started doing it with the leaves on the branches, but I found that it was harder to cut this way. So I actually began pulling the leaves off the branches, and then I popped them back on when I was done. They slid on and off the branch easily.
Once I had all the leaves cut down, I grabbed some paint to warm up the color. I wanted them to be more the color of a willow branch. I used Country Chic paint, which is an all-in-one décor paint, in the shade Sage Advice. The paint was a nice muted sage color that matches the realistic willow leaves that I saw in my local craft store.
To paint the leaves, I blotted the paint over the front to give them a realistic rustic leaf vibe.
I made sure that I also paint the backside of the leaf as well so that it matched.
Once I had them all painted and dried all I had to do was pop them back onto the branches. I was lucky enough to find these branches where the leaves pop off and on.
Finally, I found a deco vase and arranged the branches inside.
These fake leaves were so easy to make and I love how realistic they look. I love the elegant classy look of the greenery and how it just tones down that bright stark, plasticy green.
I'm happy that I saved myself a ton of money because the branches that I originally wanted to buy were $19 a branch and these were so much cheaper.

Love this idea! Realistic artificial greenery can definitely be pricey, so I’m all for a DIY hack. I’ve tried something similar using fabric leaves and a bit of paint to make them look more high-end. Also, to add a cozy touch, I pair my faux leaves décor with a few Goose Creek candles, great quality without breaking the bank. The greenery and soft candlelight make for a perfect, cozy setup that looks way more expensive than it actually is.
