How Do You Make 3D Door Decorations for Christmas?

I’ve been seeing these amazing 3D Christmas door decorations, and I want to try making one myself.
Does anyone have tips or ideas for creating something that really stands out?
I’d love to see photos of your own creations, too!

Hi Aimee: One year I made a giant stocking and put various toys sticking out of the top. It was really cute. The only problem is, if you have a storm door, be sure that the 3D decoration is narrow enough for the storm door to close.
I made a Halloween wreath with a plastic witch attached. Wron decision, her feet scratched my new storm door. I am very careful now on how wide something can be.
You can make 3D door decorations of many types. In the spring I fill a large straw purse with spring faux flowers and greenery. In the fall a wicker basket is filled with autumn leaves and twigs. It's fun to use unusual containers, I've even used cardboard boxes through the years....sometimes covered with fabric and ribbons. Just use spray adhesive and cover. You can use a wreath form and then add whatever decor might be suitable....even flip flops from $Tree, sunglasses, etc. Your imagination can run wild and it's quite fun to create unique wreaths.
Just a ittle bit late for this Christmas, BUT You stsrt by sticking the back items on first and then work forward to the front!
Hi Aimee, I love these! Head down to your local thrift store or Dollar stores. They always have wire forms or baskets that can be used for this, plan what you want it to look like and make sure you lay it out to test the look. Use a glue gun to attach all the items to the form or basket.
