Hey everyone! I’m looking for fun things to do on new year's eve to make the holiday party even more special.

Do you have any favorite DIY New Year’s Eve crafts you’ve done before, maybe for decorations, party favors, or even kids’ activities?

I’d love to hear what you’ve tried or are planning this year—bonus points for budget-friendly ideas or things I can do last minute!

Hi Danielle, here are my favourite decorations for new year's eve. (Keeping in mind that I have to clean it afterwards) so NO confetti! LOL!

If you happen to have a large clock somewhere in your house, hang it in a central location in your room.

That way everyone can see when the midnight hour is approaching.

Hang metallic silver or gold curtains - Metallic foil curtains are party-ready back drops that are available in all kinds of colors. But I like the gold or silver ones for New Year’s Eve.

They are inexpensive and make a big impact on the room.

You can either hang them from curtain rods (if you are putting them up in front of a window), or attach them to the wall.

Scotch tape or velcro dots both work pretty well for this. But I would test a little spot first to make sure you can remove without damaging paint

String lots of cool white lights around the room

You can also hang metallic balloons at different heights from the ceiling…no helium required.

    Candles in mercury glass holders

Silver or gold chargers for your place settings

I'm a little late to respond, but here's some items I gather from around my house. Lots of mirrors and candles (the battery operated kind if you have young children included) for lots of glamour and reflecting qualities. Lots of metallic garlands, crystal, silver bowls, decor items, etc. to reflect as well. The large clock idea by Deb K is a great one!
