What’s the Best Way to DIY a Halloween Fringe Banner?

I’m trying to make my own Halloween fringe banner this year, but I’m not sure how to get it looking just right. Have any of you made one before?
I’m curious what materials you used and how you made it durable enough to last all season.
Any tips or fun color combinations?
Dress it in black, (Bin Bags) then use anything you like to give the look! or maybe dress in white (old net curtains) etc
I would make a rag banner out of black and white fabric. Just knot it on the twine and drape it over the mantel. Maybe you could add some lights behind it, too.
