Thrift Store Wood Slice Mirror Makeover

I was making over my bathroom and wanted a wood sliced mirror. I did want to pay the price so I made one myself. Had most of the supplies laying around. I mean who doesn't have branches and a hot glue gun.
Mirror that I found for 3.00 at thrift store
Here is the mirror I got at thrift store for 3.00 on half price day, I lightly sanded it to make wood slices adhere to the wood. I didn't bother painted it as I didn't think you would be able to see it.
It had raised panels
I wasn't sure how it would take to the different levels but after sanded it I knew if I put enough hot glue I should be fine. It would be hanging in the bathroom and should get to much wear.
with a chop saw and wood branches
I think this was the hardest part was using the chop saw and slicing the branches into wood chips. I am very comfortable with the chop saw but I must say be careful when you slice through a knot it really jumps out of your grip.
tested stain colors
I tried different stain colors but decided I liked just a natural stain. After cutting my wood slices I ran them over a sanding block to smooth them out. Then once I decided to stain natural I stained them all. Pulled out the hot glue gun and went to work.
Hot glue gunned them into place.
I just started placing them on the mirror and glued away. Probably took a half and hour to glue them all on. I love how it turned out.
Finished project!
I love natural wood and this worked great for my bathroom make over. It is fun and like I said the hardest part was cutting the wood slices.

The final project. Really it was very simple and fun and only cost me the 3.00 for the mirror at the thrift store.

Hi Ruth,
I am not a techie kind of person and can't send pictures. These photos are on my email, but I don't know how to turn them up the right way. I want to extend the marble back splash higher up and behind the toilet. It was simple to do, and very cheap indeed. Marbles cost $6 plus supplies.
I sponge painted the vanity top, came out pretty good, and painted the cabinet a dark blue. I also made some dark blue/green swirl-patterned curtains that look fine. Now I need to paint the walls, but can't decide on the color. Any suggestions?
I love this. I have a live edge vanity and it would look great with it. My mirror does not have a frame around it. Would the wood stick to the mirror just using a glue gun?
